Current

I.

When grief clothed me in ashes and the ground disappeared beneath my feet, I never knew the pain I carried would one day ebb away like the tide.

You noticed my faltering joy, an open wound that would not cease to bleed. With the patience of a steady river, you took my hand and showed me the way.

By your side I learned to trust, even in the ordinary, the smallest things. For the Lord never turns away from listening; no one works for us better than Him.

God, who painted the salty seas and gave me a name the color of the ocean, made me, blue by the name your companion, your long-awaited human harbor.

II.

I, glaucio, clear and deep, was brought to calm your current. And in doing so, I became part of your world, and together we left sorrow behind.

I love your faith that never wavers, your gentleness that corrects with kindness, the strength that binds our hearts together, your beauty woven with tenderness.

I admire you, godly and virtuous woman. You taught me how to love; you healed my heart. I want to cross these many waters with you, to be your home, as together we build our life as one.

There is no hidden secret within these lines. The truth shines as clearly as the sun upon the sea. More than passion, I have chosen devotion. And today I can say, without the slightest doubt, that I am happy to love you.
